Montipora, also known as leaf plate or vase corals, provide shelter to many organisms including damselfish, trumpetfish and fusiliers photographed above. Looking in and underneath the corals, there are even more critters to find, like crabs, snails, fan worms and nudibranchs, making coral gardens some of the most diverse dive sites in the world!

Coral reefs are unique and diverse habitats, each one unique and beautiful in its own way.

I took this image on the outer reefs of the Fiji Islands. At around 15 metres deep we came across our dive site, a coral reef resembling a huge garden of roses! This was my favourite shot, and I think that the black and white edit captures the raw beauty of the textures. The simplicity of the image reminds me of yin and yang, just as coral and sand represent life and death on the reef.

Each image is printed on a 100% cotton fibre rag, an archival museum quality material with a vibrant finish.
